Yet another kind of exclusive…..
Posted on April 16th, 2005 by Paul
Whilst we’re on the subject of upcoming events and contributions, I’d just like to add one more….
….An interview with the head honcho of the UK’s #1 political blog Harry Hatchett of Harry’s Place, which, Harry reliably informs me, is actually read by certain members of No. 10 Downing Street.
Also, if you’re forever wondering why nobody ever comments on your blog, you might be well advised to go and take a little look at one of this week’s posts which managed to attract a trifling 265 comments.
It would’ve been 465, but Benjamin is away on his jollies.
Wow. That is an impressive number of comments. Looks like the main reason for such a large number is that Harry comments back, engaging readers in a dialouge. I’ve found on my blog that people love to comment back after you have said something about one of their comments, especially if you are disagreeing with them. Also, Harry writes about relevant and sometimes controversial topics, which piques reader’s interest and makes them want to comment on it.
Controversy is always a wonderful thing. It’s obviously more at home on a political blog than on a business blog, but it’s quite entetaining.
You’re right, Harry and the rest of the contributors do answer back, not always politely neither.
Another key is actually writing about the real world as opposed to constantly wittering about what one blogger said about another blogger.
Dude, Paul, shake the antlers out of your hair. I’ve seen way more controversy on business blogs than on the political blogs, more heated, not maybe more comments in number, but more controversy in heat and deep thought.
Does the name “GM FastLane Blog” or “Gaping Void” ring a much muted bell?
